Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP)
All trainees occupying a Specialty training post are required to undertake a yearly review of their progress (ARCP). Each annual review is carried out by a small specialty-based panel as detailed in the Gold Guide. It will provide an opportunity for the trainee to provide comments on their training to date, as well as reviewing their progress/competences and identifying specific training needs.
ARCP Requirements for Anaesthesia & ICM
- Refer to the relevant tab for your stage of training : Stage 1 / Stage 2 / Stage 3
- Trainees on a dual programme have a separate ARCP for each specialty, though where possible (and almost always for Anaesthesia-ICM) there are held on the same day with one panel who can access both e-portfolios
- Refer to Notes on Dual Anaesthesia-ICM (if relevant) - the principle aim is to reduce unnecessary duplication
