A multi-professional obstetric emergencies course for practitioners from all disciplines involved in the care of women.

The course is particularly suitable for:

  • experienced midwives
  • Anaesthetists Trainees with at least 6 months experience
  • Obstetric Trainees with at least 6 months experience

The course is specifically designed to bridge the gaps in skills and experience in the management of uncommon obstetric emergencies as highlighted by Confidential Enquiries and goes beyond local in-house drills or courses focusing on basic skills for individual care givers.

A typical programme consists of interprofessional training in the morning for all, then two parallel programmes in the afternoon:

  1. Advanced Obstetric Anaesthesia Simulation
  2. Advanced Obstetric Emergency Workshops

The course is regularly updated to reflect emerging research and national guidelines, as well as to incorporate innovative models, most of which are developed locally before being disseminated internationally.  The course fees are low and there are discounts for midwives.

Course fee £160
