SIA complex orthopaedics
The full gamut of major orthopaedics is on offer at NBT, including but not limited to:
- Hip and knee arthroplasty including revisions and infected prosthesis explantation
- Pelvic trauma and elective pelvic surgery
- Shoulder arthroplasty
- Major spinal surgery including scoliosis correction and anterior approaches to the thoracolumbar spine
- Soft tissue lower limb work including hip arthroscopy and patellar alta treatments
- Forearm and hand
- Foot and ankle
- A full range of major and minor trauma
- Ortho-plastic work (“fix and flap”), predominantly for limb trauma
We currently run 5 elective orthopaedic theatres each day and 2 trauma theatres. There is related work undertaken by our plastic surgeons, e.g. much of the hand surgery.
Outside of lists there are opportunities for additional project, for example in regional anaesthesia, patient blood management, theatre productivity, daycase arthroplasty.
