We recommend that an education SIA runs parallel with another SIA so both can be achieved simultaneously. GWH is a friendly and supportive environment with multiple opportunities for teaching.
- Role of associate resident doctor tutor – organising weekly resident doctor teaching, collecting quality feedback on departmental training, link between trainee and college tutor, organising wellbeing events.
- Supervision of novice anaesthetists and obstetric anaesthetists, organisation of novice airway mastery course.
- Opportunities for running regular sim using recently purchased mannekin in Critical Care Unit.
- Involvement in weekly coffee and catastrophe, regular tea-trolley teaching opportunities.
- Organising deanery primary FRCA study days.
- Attendance at PGME Medical Education Committee meetings, with support to complete postgraduate qualifications in Medical Education if required.
